The PDP is owned by the community and the PDP lacks for a process for the elections. The community must have a process defined by the community, not by the board. The board responsibility is to oversight it, but based on the community decisions, otherwise we will not be following the ICP-2 consensus/bottom-up approach, which is our *<b>master governing law</b>*.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>2. The board (or by delegation the NomCom) is already making sure that the candidates fulfill the policy. So if you have only 2 candidates and are from the same country, clearly, you can only opt for those. If you have 4 candidates, but 3 of them are from the same company, only one could be accepted. They probably should agree among themselves, otherwise, the nomcom probably will choose the one that presented the candidacy the earlier, or the one that fulfills better the rest of the policy conditions, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>3. It is normal, in many real life situations, that candidates need a “minimum” support, and in this case, I think it makes sense that this is done (as in other RIRs) by actual members. This avoids a completely “unknown” person to try to hijack the process. If a non-member believes that he/she can, based on its experience propose his candidancy I think it will be perfectly reasonable for him to find members that know him, or even in the worst case (I don’t think a candidate don’t have contacts if he really has the experience), ask in the list for support (hi guys, this is my CV and my experience, I want to offer my time for this job, can members that wish to support me contact in private to arrange my nomination).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>4. The board is responsible of the oversight of the PDP. It is clear.
