<div dir="auto"><div style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:small" dir="auto">Il va sans dire que je reconnais une organisation continentale qui est AFRINIC , avec un statut et des règles données. L'organisation a un statut qui régit son fonctionnement et pour lequel il peut y avoir des amendements. Depuis presque deux ans que je suis inscrit sur cette liste de RPD, je vois parfois des échanges houleux qui parfois virent aux insultes et à un déplacement de langage avéré. On dirait une zone de combat numérique. Si on pense qu'il ya quelque chose qui ne marche pas et qui doit être amélioré, pourquoi ne pas en parler avec une approche logique des choses sans virer dans des langages animaliers. </div><div style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:small" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:small" dir="auto">C'est parfois désolant de vivre un tel climat de guerre virtuelle. si des gens agissent de manière à ne pas vous plaire, réagissez avec une forme d'éthique et de valeur données; si quelqu'un accepte de défendre les intérêts d'une organisation X, faudrait-il le traiter de marionnettes ou justifier son choix pour raison de précarité financière ? Je ne pense pas. Il ya des députés et membres des assemblées de différents pays qui défendent des politiques et points de vue des grandes entreprises; est ce que cela est justifié par ce qu'ils sont en précarité ? Non. Certains parleront de Corruption et d'autres de Lobbying et au finish c'est chacun qui reste libre d'accepter ou non une proposition quelconque. </div><div style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:small" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:small" dir="auto">Revenons à l'aspect des choses techniques en démontrant le côté des choses positives ou négatives et comment améliorer ? I will fully agree with you *IF and only IF* we were using a ?voting system?, but the PDP is based on rough consensus (RFC7282), which means that *more voices* or *less voices* don?t count *at all* in one or the other side of a proposal.<br>

What it matters in a consensus-based process is that those that oppose to a proposal can justify their opposition. Not that there are 500 or 1000 voices in favor or against.<br>

<br>
<br>
If anyone objects to any proposal, you just need a single voice for that and it can be done in any language. The authors will need to use their own means to understand your objection and then either recognize if the objection is valid or maybe refute it. If the authors can?t understand the objection, they will need to ask for help from the staff.<br>

By the way, note that I?m also not native English speaker (I learn English by myself when I was learning about computers, programming and electronics with 8 years of age, as at that time there were no books in Spanish about that), and I?m sure I do many mistakes, and this probably brings to many bad interpretations many many many times, but I just do the effort and keep contributing in all the 5 RIRs and the IETF.<br>

Responding also to the point that Owen made in a previous email, as I?ve the same feeling and I act the same way. If you?re a (let me create this expresion) ?free citizen of the world?, even if you have a sponsor or an employeer, you will speak freely even if this means ?throwing stones on your own roof? (I?m not sure this expression exists in english, literally translation from my spanish, but I guess it can be easily understood anyway).<br>

If I need to say something that it is against may employer, friends, whatever, I will do it, even if that means creating troubles to me (like being fired ? and I?ve been in that situation), because for me honestity is more important. Of course, I may be wrong in my opinion or have the wrong knoledge (which bring me to wrong or partial views), but if I say something (and in this context, if I write or defend a given policy proposal), is because I really believe that is the right way, not for me, or my employeer, but for the community.<br>

I also understand that some people is not able to do that (they are not ?100% free?), and I respect that, but only up to a certain point. The way to fight against that in the PDP is making sure that you refute those views which may be not true, or not good for the overall community.<br>
