[rpd] IPv6 as a Criteria in IPv4 Soft Landing

Dear Colleagues,

I support the view that the remaining IPv4 resources should continue to be
managed through policies that are transparent, objective, and fair to all
members of the AFRINIC community. While IPv6 adoption remains an important
long-term objective, IPv4 continues to play a critical operational role for
many networks across the region.

For this reason, any policy governing IPv4 allocation should ensure that
access to these resources remains balanced, practical, and does not
unintentionally disadvantage networks that still depend on IPv4. A
well-designed policy should encourage responsible stewardship of IPv4 while
supporting a gradual and sustainable transition toward IPv6.

I believe that maintaining neutrality, fairness, and sound resource
governance will strengthen confidence in the Policy Development Process and
serve the best interests of the community.
