Hi Chairs, all,
Once more my response to the staff follows, which clearly shows that even if I don’t necessarily agree with all their inputs, I’ve addressed them with minor text changes to the proposal:
I don’t agree with the legal inputs, they are basically encroaching the community powers, which are on top of the PDP (not the Board, not the bylaws).
Yes, AFRINIC must protect the organization and membership but NEVER against the community or ICP-2, which is the only legal reason for the AFRINIC constitution. If AFRINIC bylaws are wrong it is an organization problem to be urgently resolved, but they can’t be used to manage the community and its rights, only the membership and the organization.
However, I believe with minor changes I’ve been able to accommodate those comments, but still keeping the spirit of my proposal.
It should be noticed that if AFRINIC keep understanding that they are on top of the PDP, ICP-2 is being contradicted and then the community must seriously take this with ICANN and the Global Internet Community. I really hope that this is not the case, but no doubt, that if needed I will start the process.
Regards,
Jordi
