Dear community,
I believe that the appeal makes sense and very explicit. In accordance with
the CPM, the Co-chairs are empowered with the duty of declaring the
consensus, hence an appeal can be filed against them but since the Board
has chosen to fill the gap and conduct the duties and take up the role of
the co-chairs at difficult time and in an unprecedented manner, it is only
applicable that the appeal can be taken against the Board’s consensus. If
the declaration of the consensus by the Board is valid, it simply means
that anyone can declare a consensus on the list because they feel they have
the experience or in the capacity to do so.
Similarly, since the appeal is against the consensus decision of the Board,
and the idea that such consensus cannot be appealed does not make sense and
it speak low on the concept of a bottom-up functional system we claim to
promote. If we follow this logic, as I aforementioned anyone can declare a
consensus on behalf of the everyone else and when this starts to happen, we
will lose a functional rpd.
Thanks
Elvis
