[rpd] Report from Recall Committee

Hi Sarah,

I think, unless I misunderstood the board chair, it is clear that the board will decide depending on what we tell them:

“The Board would like to
encourage the Policy Development Working Group to find a way forward.”

Regards,

Jordi

Hi Jordi,

I would suggest that we wait for the outcome of the Board meeting and then take it from there. I believe some recommendations were made in the report from the Recall Committee, which I believe will be a good starting place.

Regards,

Sarah

So ... PDWG colleagues. We need to move.

We need to answer questions and tell the board:

1. We want to halt everything until we have elections:
1.1 On-line elections in a few weeks with the previous electoral census?
1.2 On-site elections, we don't know when?

2. We want the board to choose 2 transition chairs?

3. We want to nominate ourselves a few names for transition chairs and let the board to decide, once they confirm their willingness to take the job ?

I don't think other choices are feasible in one week from now ... for example, deciding among us by email the 2 cochairs and not enter in an endless discussion.

(note that the order is arbitrary, I'm not suggesting anything in the list above, I'm happy with any choice IF we are able to reach consensus ourselves by next week)

Jordi

Dear Policy Development Working Group,

The AFRINIC Board of Directors would like to thank the Recall
Committee for its report. The Board has taken note of the findings
and decision of the Recall Committee to recall the two Policy
Development Working Group co-Chairs with immediate effect.

It is unlikely that the Policy Development Process can function in
the absence of a Working Group Chair. The Board would like to
encourage the Policy Development Working Group to find a way forward.

The Board is scheduled to meet on Wednesday 17 February to discuss the matter.

Regards,
S. Moonesamy

Board Chair, AFRINIC
