[rpd] Policy Brief : May 2020 - Status on policies - Implemented, Pending Implementation, Expired

Dear Colleagues

The AFRINIC Policy Development Process supports AFRINIC's role at
managing the Internet Number Resources for its service region by
enabling the bottom-up, transparent and open approach to policy
development. The policies  that reach consensus and are ratified by the
AFRINIC Board provide the guidelines for the approval of resource requests. 

 

AFRINIC is pleased to  provide the following update :-

 1. The  ratified policy proposal Multihoming not required for
    ASN(AFPUB-2019-ASN-001-DRAFT04) has been fully implemented. 
     Section 7 of the Consolidated Policy Manual has been updated to
    incorporate the policy text. The following documentation on the
    AFRINIC website has been updated and we encourage the AFRINIC
    Resource Members who could not get their Autonomous System Numbers
    to submit their requests.

 2. The ratified policy proposal IPv6 PI
    clarification ID: AFPUB-2019-v6-001-DRAFT02 is partly implemented.
    Section 6.8 of the Consolidated Policy Manual has been updated to
    incorporate the policy text so that the AFRINIC members can benefit
    from the policy sections that do not require coding. The following
    documentation on the AFRINIC website has been updated and we
    encourage the AFRINIC Resource Members who have a demonstrated need
    to rectify  their IPv6 assignment prefix size  to submit their
    requests.

    The implementation of section 6.8.3 E of the policy
    proposal required coding on the myafrinic member portal. There has
    been a significant progress in this implementation and the committed
    go-live date is set to *30 September** 2020* . 
 3. The ratified policy proposal Adjusting IPv6 PA
    Policy AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT01 is currently being implemented
    with a  committed go-live date is set to *30 September 2020* . 
 4. The policy proposal "Provisions of Resource Hijacking 
    AFPUB-2019-GEN-001-DRAFT01  has expired and been archived.
 5. The Consolidated Policy Manual(v1.5) has been updated  with the
    implemented and partly implemented policy proposal text. CPM 1.4 has
    been archived at https://afrinic.net/cpm-1-
    <https://afrinic.net/cpm-1-3>4 .
