I have to agree with Owen here,

Elections must be entirely free, fair and without advantage to any candidate – and the approach proposed here – does not create that inclusive and fair environment. Expedience cannot be used to justify a deviation from standard election process where everyone stands equal

I absolutely oppose this mechanism.

There’s no reason whatsoever that Sami should have any priority or advantage over the other candidates.
