Consistently claiming that the opposition you don’t like is self-interest, specious, or otherwise invalid based solely on the judgment of the authors without actually addressing the substance of those claims does not count as addressing the issues.

You don’t get to decide which community concerns are valid or non-valid and then railroad a policy through the process on that basis.

The confrontation is not baseless and just because you choose to claim it is in your own self-interest and pressure to adopt this controversial policy despite its complete lack of consensus is, IMHO, out of line and inconsistent with the intent and rules of the PDP.

> We see no reason for the proposal to be returned to list as extending the random class to all members and reverting the 13.3.3.b to the original text does not need another round of discussions outside the last call.

Those changes alone do not resolve all of the valid complaints and concerns expressed, nor do they resolve all of the sustained opposition to this proposal.

> Your conclusive decision below is therefore unacceptable. We urge you to reconsider it. Failure to do so may cause the authors to appeal the decision.

Please, by all means, if you feel there is grounds, appeal this decision.

However, given that the definition of consensus is a lack of sustained opposition and rough consensus adds the ability to consider consensus in a context of sustained opposition whose issues have been addressed, or, where there is consensus to accept the policy without addressing those issues, I do not see how you can review the record of this proposal and come to a conclusion other than “no consensus”.
