[rpd] [Spam]RE: Last Call for "AFPUB-2016-GEN-001-DRAFT-04 - Internet Number Resources Review by AFRINIC"

Sami,

To propose changes to this policy would indicate that I see any need for it - and to put it bluntly - in its current form - I believe it is dangerous - in some idealistic world where we somehow fix all of the flaws in It - there will be very little left - and even in that case - the current RSA gives the power to AfriNIC to do the needful should they see fit to do so - I do not believe we have any need for this policy beyond that.

I do not believe that the problem statement is accurate and I simply do not see a problem that justifies the existence of this document. So - the only change I can suggest - is scrapping it entirely

Andrew

Andrew,

Let me reword my response. Last call doesn't mean it is going to be
adopted as-is, that is why there is a "last call" in the essence. As
long as it's not "approved" yet, it is still "under discussion".

Instead of opposing vigorously a proposal, maybe proposing changes to it
would be more constructive. Please refer next concerns to the list in
general or the authors as I feel obligated to respond when I don't
necessarily have time to do so.

Cheers !

If it passes and is ratified - the only way to modify it is via a new policy process with all the time frames that involved - and in the intervening time - the policy that has passed will be what we are all bound to.
