[AfriNIC-rpd] Implementation of AFPUB-2010-GEN-006

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the implementation of AFRINIC policy AFPUB-2010-GEN-006 (Abuse Contact Information in the AFRINIC service region).

The Policy specifies a dedicated “irt” object to be used as the preferred place to publish abuse public contact information within the AFRINIC service region. 

The object can be referenced in the inetnum, inet6num and aut-num objects in the AFRINIC Whois Database. It provides a more accurate and efficient way for abuse reports to reach the correct network contact through The AfriNIC whois database.

A ”best practices” guideline pertaining to the implementation of this policy and usage of the irt object has been published at
