[AfriNIC-rpd] What is our take on the central pool IPv4exhaustion?

I don't think there is any point trying to extend IPv4 life too much -
this will happen largely automatically (IPv4 after-market dealings) but
perhaps AfriNIC could simply make it more difficult to provide the
remainder space.
a) For totally new organisations requesting space - they need to provide
IPv6 plans.
b) For organisations with existing space - the need to apply for IPv6
space and show roll-out plans with appropriate time scales before any
new allocations?
Might be harsh - but something along these lines. Thinking of SAIX
(Telkom SA) - how can one "encourage" them to roll out IPv6 on ADSL -
which is where I'd expect most new IPv4 requests to end up.

On Routing Registry - I'd love AfriNIC to have one. Its already queried
whenever one does a "whois" lookup to all databases... and would make it
administratively easier to have all details in one "location" only.

On implementing IPv6 - I like John Curran's suggestion - which is close
to what I'm doing already..
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-jcurran-v6transitionplan-01.txt
(It therefore must be good :-)

I see that AfriNIC has taken this last point to heart and have assigned
an IPv6 address to "www.afrinic.net"..
however...
