As part of one of the 3 Operational communities (direct customers of IANA services) identified in this RfP, our view will be key in the process. We have created this list in order to collect views and contributions from you (our community) on how we see IANA stewardship post NTIA from Number Resources management perspective. All three Operational communities are currently busy starting their processes. You can check what others are doing on the repository page setup by the ICG athttps://<a href="http://www.icann.org/en/stewardship/community" target="_blank">www.icann.org/en/stewardship/community</a>.<br>

As you know AFRINIC is part of a global number community made of the four other RIRs and their respective communities. By the 31st of December we must all together come up with a sigle proposal to be submitted to the ICG. This implies a dynamic coordination amongst us and we plan to use the NRO as vehicle for such coordination. A page has been created on the NRO web site for this athttps://<a href="http://www.nro.net/nro-and-internet-governance/iana-oversight" target="_blank">www.nro.net/nro-and-internet-governance/iana-oversight</a>.<br>

As part of our process, we are also reviewing our own accountability framework and have just published the outcome of a cross RIR survey on the topic athttps://<a href="http://www.nro.net/news/nro-publishes-rir-governance-matrix" target="_blank">www.nro.net/news/nro-publishes-rir-governance-matrix</a>. The Matrix will be used for further analysis of our accountability framework and if needed propose improvement with the input from the community. So stay tuned for that.<br>

In order to try to reactivate the discussion here, I would like to suggest few things:<br>
<br>
1. It will be good to set a time limit for the discussion: 2 months for instance (From now to end of October).<br>
2. Present and discuss the outcome of the online discussion during AFRINIC-21.<br>
3. Get 2 or 3 volunteers to moderate the list and help at the end to draft our final input to the NRO proposal.<br>
<br>
AFRINIC is working to produce few more supporting documents that can also be used during our training sessions in order to raise awareness on the process and invite more contributions.<br>
