I am immensely gratified by the positive response to my idea of asking
AFRINIC staff to get involved in requesting the RADB people to delete
route objects that refer to unassigned AFRINIC-administered IP space.
And I do think this should be done. tactically however, I am not sure
that this is the exactly right moment to do that, because quite obviously
AFRINIC is currently preoccupied with the task of fending off an existential
threat to is ongoing existance.

Also, please keep in mind that the information that I posted links to
the other day was limited. I shared only a summary list of just those
RADB route objects that made reference to unassigned AFRINIC-administered
IPv4 address space.

Ideally, when and if AFRINIC staff and/or management is persuaded to
attempt to persuade the RADB folks to clean up the AFRINIC-specific
subset of the many bogon route objects they {RADB} have in their data
base, this effort should also include:

(*) bogon RADB route objects that refer to unassigned AFRINIC-
administered IPv6 address space, and...

(*) bogon RADB route objects that refer to unassigned AFRINIC-
administered AS numbers

I have not yet had time to compute lists of these other two categories
of RADB bogon route objects, and indeed, I need to do some more software
work before I will be able to supply lists of those additional batches
of RADB bogon route objects also. (But this is certainly on my to-do list.)

In any case, there does seem to be general agreement with the idea of
asking AFRINIC staff and/or management to help with interfacing with the
RADB people about all of these issues generally. So now it is just a
matter of timing, and as I have said, I think that it might be best to
wait a little while, as AFRINIC staff and management have other things
on their plates right now, and this might not be the best time to throw
new tasks at them.

Regards,
