<div dir="ltr">Dear AfriNIC Community,<div><br></div><div>While it is inappropriate to comment on the ongoing legal process between AFRINIC and Cloud Innovation, may I say that this litigation has more so highlighted a lot of rot on how AfriNIC's processes are run? </div><div><div><br></div><div>Making some of these "errors" on a resource owner's database while their case is under the lens is quite absurd. These "errors" and delays can easily be termed dubious. </div><div>What else can be changed on the database of other resource owners, and to what extent of damages? </div><div>Are there provisions for protecting and compensating resource owners if their services are illegitimately disrupted by some sloppy "errors" by AfriNIC on their database? </div><div><br></div><div>We should call for a review and audit of the general process, the RSA and entries in the Whois DBs. Responsible administration so to say.</div><div><br></div><div>I feel AfriNIC needs to implement a proper vetting process, and must show more responsibility by making staff and management liable for avoidable mistakes thereafter. </div><div>From a non-expert point of view, I suggest an adjustment should be made to the existing AfriNIC WHOIS Terms of Use, by adding a new article to address this, or on adjusting the existing sub Article D,1 <a href="https://afrinic.net/whois/terms" target="_blank">https://afrinic.net/whois/terms</a></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">D - LIMITATIONS 1.
