The registration for the election of PDP and NRO ASO AC is indeed
a separate exercise from that of the electronic registration for
AIS. A general note has been
added on the AIS'20 Registration portal stating the following :

<Note:

Registration will allow you to attend all sessions of AIS'20.
However, please note that successful registration for the AIS'20
meeting does not confer an automatic voting right to either the
PDP Co-Chair or the NRO ASO AC election. The registration for
elections and eligibility to vote in the PDP Co-Chair and NRO ASO
AC elections will start on 24 August 2020. We will provide further
details in due course.>

With regards to the timing under Section 5.3, the election period
for PDP and NRO ASO AC will start on 14-Sep-20 at 20:00 UTC and
close on the election day being 16-Sep-20 at such time to be
communicated during the meeting. You may find this information
under the Election Timeline.

The 14 days before the AGMM as per published election timeline
starts on the 05-Sep-20 at 20.00 UTC and end on the Election Date
on 18-Sep-20 at such time to be communicated during the meeting.
We will insert the timezone information under the Election

Dear AFRINIC Community members,

AFRINIC has relied on its core values -
community-driven, operational excellence, passion
and innovation - to adapt to and manage the challenges
of the COVID-19 pandemic.Unfortunately, uncertainty
still prevails with regard to the opening of
international borders and the containment of
the pandemic, which represent a major obstacle for
AFRINIC to hold its AGMM and related elections
face-to-face as originally planned and to revert to
virtual ones during the AIS’20 on 14 - 18 September
2020.
After a careful assessment of the situation and all the
comments received from community members with regard to
the holding of non-members elections, and the capacities
of the company, the Board has decided to proceed with
holding the 2020 elections online.

We are pleased to inform you that the Board has approved
an amended Election Process for the year 2020 (see https://afrinic.net/election-process/board/2020)]
This is in readiness for the elections which will be
conducted online for the first time in AFRINIC’s
history. The revised Election Process 2020 was approved
as per Article 13.2 of the Bylaws and will supersede all
previous election processes and guidelines,
exceptionally for the year 2020 because of the COVID-19
pandemic.

The document contains important details on how the
elections will be conducted, voter requirements and the
time plan. Further details regarding the modalities of
holding the elections will be shared by the CEO shortly.<br
We thank you for your patience and understanding and
look forward to your support and cooperation.<br

COVID-19. Infelizmente, a incerteza ainda prevalece no
