<p dir="ltr">The other thing we perhaps should note is that the membership size differs significantly[1]. AFRINIC does indeed give discount for certain categories of members which are not also existing in other RIRs. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Overall, while we may observe the trends in other regions they may not necessarily be applicable in our environment.</p>

So nothing wrong with your suggestion at all.<br><br>For the case of our region, AFRINIC already gives 50% discount to NREN's and also waives fees for critical infrastructures like IXP's.<br><br>In fact, other RIR like APNIC treat members in least developped countries differently.
