Dear Noah,
In line with your reasons, I submit that no one can be a Board member.
Because we aren't Robinson Crusoe, I guarantee you that everyone is
mutually affiliated to thw other..
Thus, if you are convinced that everyone linked to a resource member
presents a conflict of interest, then nobody is qualified to run for a seat
as Board member.
As every potential or past Board member must have some ties with resource
members.
Consequently, it is wrong to assume that anyone running for Board must have
nothing to do with resource members.
Moreover, AFRINIC policies are clear, and the Board election is democratic.
Like I said in my previous post, it isn't illogical for interested
candidates to running some sort of campaigns. And making themselves and the
ideas the bring to the table should FIRST be seen simply as an awareness
move to inform voters' decision, rather than alleging fraud.
While I completely disagree with the use of incentives to sway votes, I
reiterate that the onus is on the Voters to vote in the interest of AFRINIC
with utmost integrity
Kind regards,
Anthony
