Hi Kangamutima,

AfriNIC capacity development folk, have endeavoured to run training across
the continent but i tend to believe it targeted mostly folk who had no
influence in decision making in terms of deploying IPv6.

Up until recently, they started running some deployathons which aimed at
Ops/real world firing of IPv6 on-net for those who participate in the
deployathons. I am not sure if this is yielding some results since it
involves collaboration with industry folk who have IPv6 deployment
experience.

Like others have said already, the ball is on the court of our Telecom
providers across Africa since their use-base is in millions across each
country. So if they were to decide like Safaricom and a few others to go
full regalia with IPv6 rollouts then we would see some significant change
on the continent.

Not sure if regulations can encourage Telecoms to go IPv6 but hey, most of
these networks are private entities and no one has a right to go around
telling folk how to run their own networks.
