Dear Community,
As you are aware, I was nominated and elected overwhelmingly during the
Nairobi AIS back in 2017 by the community as a community representative to
the NRO-NC commonly referred to as ICANN ASO-AC. In the past two and half
years, myself and my colleagues have diligently represented the AfriNIC
community as council members of the ASO through attendance of several
monthly online meetings and contributed to partinent discussions concerning
the Address Support Organization from the selection of ASO-AC
representatives to the ICANN board, the IANA Numbering Services Report etc.
To this end, community members again supported my nomination to represent
the community at the NRO-NC and while I thank those community members who
have continued to believe in me and wished that I continue representing the
community in this role after the end of my current term in December 2020, I
have made a decision to withdraw so that others who have showed interest to
serve the community at the ICANN NRO-NC, can also do so.
I would like to note that It's important that we as a community continue to
support *diverse representation* within our community and I wish to extend
my full support to Janvier Ngnoulaye from Cameroon, who is *bilingual* and
wish him the best of luck in the upcoming NRO-NC elections.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank this great community and the
team at AfriNIC for the support in the past years.
Cheers,
Noah
