While we thank the Nomcom for the publication of slate – we note that
1. This has not gone to the members list who are the ones who carry the vote
2. A special resolution has been tabled that will give the members the right to decide to accept this delay or reject it – that special resolution must be heard – those are the rules – as clearly set out in the bylaws

Subject: [Community-Discuss] Commencement of the public comments period for the 2019 Board elections
Dear all
The 2019 Nomination Committee (NOMCOM) informs the community that the final list of candidates for the Board election has been published
and hereby announces the opening of the public comments period.
Candidate Slate:
https://afrinic.net/candidate-slate-board-election-2019<https://afrinic.net/candidate-slate-board-election-2019>
Northern Africa (Seat 1):
Leghris Cherkaoui
Youssef Habib
Western Africa (Seat 2):
Adedokun Adewale Emmanuel
Ly Ousmane
Southern Africa (Seat 5):
Mpisane Vika William
Eastern Africa (Seat 6):
Nkusi Robert Ford
Non regional (Seat 7):
Eshun Benjamin Adzenyamebeye
Ojedeji Oluwaseun Samson
NOMCOM used its best effort to attract a satisfactory number of individuals to stand as candidates including extension of the initial nomination period for the Board elections.
Significant hurdles were however encountered in the implementation of the due diligence procedure, causing some delays throught the election timeline, resulting in, among others, having a shorter public comment period.
NOMCOM apologizes for these delays and would like to request the indulgence of the community.
Best regards
Serge-Parfait Goma
AFRINIC 2019nomcom Chair
