[Community-Discuss] Call for Comments on AFRINIC bylaws

Dear colleagues,

The AFRINIC Governance Committee initiated a bylaws review process through a call for comments in November 2018.

However a low level of participation was recorded.

Considering that this exercise is of crucial importance for the functioning of AFRINIC, the Governance Committee has decided to extend the comments period by an additional two weeks, ending 11 February 2019.

The Governance Committee wishes to impress upon members that their inputs is of the utmost importance in the actual review as the last one was carried out in 2013.

Members are requested, once again, to devote some time to contribute towards this review of  the Bylaws. They are invited to make comments on any sections/articles where the need for improvement/adjustment/deletion/ better drafting is felt. https://www.afrinic.net/bylaws 

A draft document will be prepared wherein the comments received shall be included and made available for public consultation.

Members are invited to send their comments to govcom at afrinic.net, no later than 23:59 UTC on 11 February 2019.

Chers collègues,

Le comité de gouvernance d'AFRINIC a lancé un processus de révision des statuts d'AFRINIC à travers un appel à commentaires en novembre 2018.

Cependant, un faible niveau de participation a été enregistré.

Considérant que cet exercice est d’une importance cruciale pour le fonctionnement d’AFRINIC, le Comité de la gouvernance a décidé de prolonger la période de commentaires de deux semaines se terminant le 11 février 2019.

Le Comité de la gouvernance souhaite faire comprendre aux membres que leurs contributions sont de la plus haute importance lors de l’examen proprement dit, celui-ci ayant eu lieu en 2013.

Les membres sont priés, encore une fois, de consacrer du temps pour contribuer à cet examen des statuts. Ils sont invités à faire des commentaires sur les sections / articles pour lesquels des améliorations / ajustements / suppressions / améliorations sont nécessaires.https://www.afrinic.net/bylaws

Un projet de document sera préparé dans lequel les commentaires reçus seront inclus et mis à la disposition du public pour consultation.

Les membres sont invités à envoyer leurs commentaires à govcom at afrinic.net, au plus tard à 23h59 UTC le 11 février 2019.
