Dear AFRINIC community,

As you know, the RIRs participate in ICANN through the ASO.

ICANN bylaws require a review of every ICANN supporting organisation every 5 years.  An independent review of the ASO and its role within ICANN was conducted this year.  The final report was published at <https://www.nro.net/wp-content/uploads/ASO-Review-Report-2017.pdf>.

AFRINIC plans to hold a discussion of the ASO review during the AFRINIC-27 meeting in November 2017.  I invite you all to read the report and comment in the community-discuss mailing list.
