True apology is

1. You go apologize to Dr. Nii first and ask his forgiveness
2. You can also apologize to the people who witness incident
3. Then you can send this email

If you had do step 1 first and 2, then you will not get the response people
are saying now. But it not too late, you can still go ask forgiveness of Dr
Nii.
