Members

Having read all the mails bellow it is clear that we need to fix the system by which we make decisions.

Whenever a consensus driven entity starts referring to lawyers and legal precedence then you know you have deeper problems.

These are signs of cracks in our system. We happen to be a registered legal entity because of government constraints. The same governments we keep on saying should stay out of the Internet.

Let's keep AfriNIC a consensus driven entity that we all want.

I urge we find consensus and separate the government shackles from the mission of our organisation.

Consensus however is driven by the allowable quorum which we then need to find innovative solutions that we might not have thought of before to make sure that we fairly represent not only the active members but also the regional stakeholders those users of the Internet in the future that might not even have access today.

So concentrating proxies or not driving for wider inclusion in ideas of how we move on is contrary to our mission.

Let's keep the lawyers out at the moment and have an open discussion of views.
