Hi Paulos,
While I agree that more diverse continental representation at ICANN would
be nice, I find your bashing of ICANN's Nomcom not warranted.

Nomcom's charge is to work in the best interest of the global Internet
community. As such, the diversity provisions they have are only to ensure
that at all times every geographical region is represented on the Board and
nothing more. Any intra-region representation/diversity you may expect is
not for Nomcom to deliver.

Further, your complaints about Nomcom can be construed as a vote of no
confidence on the new Board members' ability to adequately represent the
continent, which, again, I don't think is justified. While I appreciate
Africa's geographical diversity, I don't see any reason that could render
them incapable of representing the rest of the continent. On the contrary,
the nature of work and safeguards at ICANN won't afford them the
opportunity to advantage one part of the continent at the expense of
another even if they wanted to.

In the end, instead of pointing one fingure at Nomcom, we should remember
the four point at ourselves. This issue could have been resolved if we sent
more competent candidates from Malawi, Uganda and other countries. This is
what we should do in the future.

Regards,
