The AFRINIC Board of Directors has determined that a review and update of its Bylaws is necessary and has therefore resolved to establish a Bylaws Review Committee.
Accordingly, the AFRINIC Board of Directors invites representatives of AFRINIC Resource Members to volunteer for appointment to the Bylaws Review Committee. For the avoidance of doubt, a “representative” refers to either an individual formally designated by the relevant organisation for this purpose or a Resource Member’s existing Registered Contact as recorded and recognised by AFRINIC.
The Board recognises that a comprehensive review of the AFRINIC Bylaws is essential to ensure they continue to reflect sound governance practices and support AFRINIC in effectively serving the African Internet community.
The Committee’s mandate is to review AFRINIC’s existing Bylaws and to propose amendments aimed at strengthening governance, reducing institutional risk, and ensuring alignment with applicable legislation, recognised best-practice standards, and AFRINIC’s long-term organisational needs.
The Committee shall comprise six (6) members, one representing each of the following sub-regions:
Northern Africa
Western Africa
Indian Ocean
Central Africa
Southern Africa
Eastern Africa
The AFRINIC Board of Directors will appoint a Chairperson from among the six members and provide Secretariat support to assist the Committee in carrying out its functions.
Interested representatives of Resource Members are invited to submit an Expression of Interest, outlining their relevant experience, governance or legal expertise, and sub-regional representation, to the Senior Executive Assistant, Ms Guylaine Laiyra, via email at <a href="https://lists.afrinic.net/mailman/listinfo/announce">guylaine at afrinic.net</a> <mailto:<a href="https://lists.afrinic.net/mailman/listinfo/announce">guylaine at afrinic.net</a>>, no later than 20 February 2026.

Le Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC a estimé qu’une révision et une mise à jour de ses Statuts sont nécessaires et a, en conséquence, décidé de mettre en place un Comité de révision des Statuts.
À ce titre, le Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC invite les représentants des Membres Ressources d’AFRINIC à se porter volontaires pour être nommés au sein de ce Comité. Pour éviter toute ambiguïté, un « représentant » désigne soit une personne officiellement mandatée par l’organisation concernée à cet effet, soit le contact enregistré existant du Membre Ressource tel que reconnu par AFRINIC.
Le Conseil reconnaît qu’une révision approfondie des Statuts d’AFRINIC est essentielle afin de garantir qu’ils continuent de refléter des pratiques de gouvernance solides et permettent à AFRINIC de servir efficacement la communauté Internet africaine.
Le mandat du Comité est d’examiner les Statuts actuels d’AFRINIC et de proposer des amendements visant à renforcer la gouvernance, réduire les risques institutionnels et assurer l’alignement avec la législation applicable, les normes reconnues de bonnes pratiques, ainsi qu’avec les besoins organisationnels à long terme d’AFRINIC.
Le Comité sera composé de six (6) membres, représentant chacun l’une des sous-régions suivantes :

Afrique de l’Ouest
Océan Indien
Afrique Centrale
Afrique Australe
Afrique de l’Est
Le Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC désignera un Président parmi les six membres et fournira un appui du Secrétariat afin d’assister le Comité dans l’exécution de ses fonctions.

وبناءً عليه فقد قرر إنشاء لجنة لمراجعة النظام الأساسي.</p><p data-start="557" data-end="841">وعليه، يدعو مجلس إدارة AFRINIC ممثلي أعضاء الموارد في AFRINIC للتطوع من أجل التعيين في لجنة مراجعة النظام الأساسي. ولتجنب أي لبس، يُقصد بـ “الممثل” إما شخص يتم تعيينه رسميًا من قبل الجهة المعنية لهذا الغرض، أو جهة الاتصال المسجلة الحالية لعضو الموارد كما هي معتمدة ومسجلة لدى AFRINIC.</p><p data-start="843" data-end="1024">ويُقرّ المجلس بأن إجراء مراجعة شاملة للنظام الأساسي لـ AFRINIC أمرٌ أساسي لضمان استمرار توافقه مع ممارسات الحوكمة الرشيدة ودعم قدرة AFRINIC على خدمة مجتمع الإنترنت
