At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:<br>
<br>
+ Design an IPv6 address scheme for their organisations.<br>
<br>
+ Configure IPv6 on Windows/Mac and Linux desktop operating
systems.<br>
<br>
+ Build a routed IPv6 network using both static routing and
OSPFv3.<br>
<br>
+ Configure tunnelling techniques to allow v6-capable sites talk
to other v6 sites across a v4-only network.<br>
<br>
+ Brainstorm solutions to issues holding back IPv6 in their
organisations.<br>
<br>
<br>
Details of our IPv6 modules are available at <a
moz-do-not-send="true" class="moz-txt-link-freetext"

<br>
<br>
Target Audience:<br>
————————<br>
<br>
Network engineers and systems administrators who understand how
to design and build IPv4 networks. Participants must already
understand topics like:<br>
<br>
+ The OSI model and the various protocols that operate at each
layer.<br>
<br>
+ IPv4 addressing and subnetting.<br>
<br>
+ Intra-domain routing and OSPF.<br>
<br>
+ Fundamentals of Inter-domain routing with BGP<br>
<br>
+ Basic network services like DHCP and DNS.<br>
<br>
+ How to use the command line interfaces of key routing
platforms (e.g Cisco IOS)<br>
<br>
<br>
Participants are expected to bring their own laptops which must
have the following utilities installed:<br>
<br>
[a] Virtualbox - a virtualisation software available freely from
<a moz-do-not-send="true" class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads">http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads</a><br>
<br>
[b] A telnet and/or SSH client. If your operating system does
not have these installed, you can download and install the
following free ones:<br>
<br>
+ Putty - <a moz-do-not-send="true"
class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/%7Esgtatham/putty/download.html">http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html</a><br>
+ Terraterm - <a moz-do-not-send="true"
class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/ttssh2/releases/">http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/ttssh2/releases/</a><br>
<br>
[c] The RIPE whois client freely available from <a
moz-do-not-send="true" class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://whois.sourceforge.net">http://whois.sourceforge.net</a><br>
<br>
Please note that although most Linux/unix operation systems have
a whois client, these do not support most of the flags used by
the AfriNIC whois server.<br>
<br>
