We are sorry to inform you that, in some cases, there<BR> are fewer nominations than there are available seats. For this<BR> reason, the election committee has decided to extend the nomination<BR> period for all available seats.<BR><BR> The extended nomination period will end at 12:00 UTC on 5 April<BR> 2007. See below for information about how to submit a nomination.<BR> Note that self-nominations are permitted.<BR><BR> The following seats are to be filled by elections to be held during<BR> the AfriNIC-6 meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, on 2 and 3 May 2007:<BR><BR>AfriNIC Board seat 1 (for the North Africa sub-region),<BR>currently
occupied by Kamal Okba (primary) and Mokhtar Hamidi (alternate).<BR><BR>AfriNIC Board seat 2 (for the West Africa sub-region),<BR>currently occupied by Pierre Dandjinou (primary) and Sunday Folayan<BR>(alternate).<BR><BR>AfriNIC community-elected representative to the NRO-NC,<BR>currently occupied by Ali Drissa Badiel.<BR><BR> All seats are for a three-year term. The term for the Board seats<BR> begins immediately after the election, and ends at a similar<BR> election in 2010. The term for the NRO-NC seat begins on 1 January<BR> 2008 and ends on 31 December 2010.<BR><BR> In the case of the Board seats, each seat is occupied by two people<BR> (Primary and Alternate).<BR><BR> The current occupants of these seats are not automatically placed<BR> on the candidate list for re-election. In order for them to
