During this process, we received nearly 300 responses from the different Internet communities associated with each Regional Internet Registry (RIR). Below is the total breakdown of responses by region: APNIC (Asia Pacific) 154 (51.7%) AFRINIC (Africa) 55 (18.5%) RIPE NCC (Europe, Middle East and parts of Central Asia) 36 (12.1%) ARIN (North America and the Caribbeans) 32 (10.7%) LACNIC (Latin America and the Caribbean) 20 (6.7%) Not Applicable 1 (.03%) The questionnaire was open from 8 October to 6 December 2024, allowing participants to share their opinions, rate each principle, and provide additional comments. In the coming weeks, we will begin working on a qualitative analysis of the responses received, which will be shared with the Internet community. This process focuses on reviewing and updating the fundamental principles of ICP-2, a key document that defines the criteria for recognizing and evaluating RIRs. Updating these principles strengthens transparency, governance, and the operations of the RIRs, reaffirming their accountability to the global Internet community. We would like to thank everyone who participated and provided feedback during this critical process. Your contributions are essential to ensuring that these principles reflect the needs and expectations of our community. As part of the result of the IANA Stewardship transition, the IANA Numbering Services Review Committee (IANA RC ) was established in 2016. The IANA RC is composed of representatives from each RIR region and advises and assists the RIRs in the review of the IANA Numbering Services. The IANA services are currently provided by Public Technical Identifiers (PTI ), which publishes monthly performance reports on the IANA Numbering Services website . Based on these monthly performance reports, the five RIRs have produced the 2024 IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report. 30-Day Public Comment Period The IANA RC is now launching a 30-day public comment period to seek comments and input from the community on the IANA numbering services performance and the 2024 IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report. The IANA RC encourages all members of the Internet number community to review the public IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report. Comments on the IANA service performance should be sent to: iana-performance [at] nro [dot] net. The IANA RC will publish an annual report in March 2025 as advice to the NRO EC with its evaluation of the IANA Numbering services. The report will be based on the IANA Performance Matrix Summary Report and on any input gathered from the global number community. The public comment period ends on Friday, 28 February 2025 at 23:59 UTC. All public comments will be published on the NRO Website in the dedicated?IANA RC?section and will be considered as input to the final report by the IANA. At the end of the 30-day public comment period, the IANA RC will meet and evaluate all input to the final report. The questionnaire was open from 8 October until 6 December 2024. During this window, we received 298 individual submissions from the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) communities. The summary and the raw data questionnaire are available here . This summary provides an overview of the input received, first and foremost, to support the drafting of the updated ICP-2 document, and secondly, to report back to the RIR communities. Thirdly, the feedback provides important insights that will be valuable for the future implementation of the updated version of ICP-2. The summary does not include the NRO NC?s opinions on or responses to the comments submitted, nor does it include an evaluation of the communities? opinion on the principles. The NRO NC will continue to discuss the communities? feedback as well as the input received through ICANN?s public comment while drafting the updated ICP-2 document. For each proposed principle, respondents could express their level of agreement through a five-point opinion scale (Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree) and provide comments. Additionally, they could share general feedback at the end of the questionnaire. It was noted in reviewing the responses that approximately half were found to be duplicate comments. The duplicate responses were consolidated and considered as a single input. It is important to note that these near-identical responses have also been included in this analysis. We have provided more details on how these responses were identified and treated in the Methodology section of the summary and the PDF containing the text of the comments. Further, many responses provided a rating that did not match the content of the response. In these cases, we prioritised the content of the response, rather than using the rating. For the purposes of transparency, the full datasets with the duplicate responses, as well as a filtered dataset without duplicate answers are available in both PDF and CSV formats. We encourage you to browse through the actual data along with reading our summary. We sincerely thank everyone who has shared their insights. It was a long questionnaire, and we appreciate the time, thought and effort put in by our respondents.*The Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) is also known as the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) within ICANN, where it serves as the body responsible for overseeing global policy development related to Internet number resources. The consultation was open from 14 April to 27 May 2025, and allowed participants to share their opinions on the proposed text and requirements as well as provide additional constructive comments. Each RIR hosted at least one interactive informational session for their community during this period, where additional feedback may have been collected. Sessions were also hosted for ICANN communities, and an ICANN Public Comment process was held in parallel during the same period. The list of the sessions held and links to their archives are available on the NRO website . This process focuses on reviewing and updating the fundamental principles of Internet Coordination Policy-2 (ICP-2) , a key document that defines the criteria for recognizing and evaluating RIRs. The Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC), that fulfils the role of the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC), will discuss the feedback received from the RIR communities as well as the ICANN Public Comment process and use it to inform the next draft. The NRO NC will publish the next draft for review to the RIR and ICANN communities in the later months of 2025. We would like to thank everyone who participated and provided feedback during this critical process. Following the annulment of the previous election, the Receiver presented the underlying facts and concerns to the Supreme Court of Mauritius that necessitated this action. Concurrently, the Receiver petitioned the Court for an extension to the period allotted for holding new elections. The Supreme Court of Mauritius, having reviewed the submitted information, has granted an exceptional extension. The new deadline for conducting the election process and reconstituting the AFRINIC Board is now 30 September 2025. We will provide further details as they become available.
