[AFRINIC-Announce] Reminder: Nomination Period for ICANN Board Seat 10 to Close on 16 December

Dear colleagues,
On 16 September 2024, the Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC) published a call for nominations for Seat 10 of the ICANN Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted until Monday, 16 December 2024 at 23:59 UTC.
The selected candidate will serve for a three-year term, starting immediately after the ICANN Annual General Assembly to be held during the ICANN 84 Meeting, scheduled to take place in October 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
All nominated candidates must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements outlined in Article 7 of the ICANN Bylaws and will undergo a due diligence review by an independent ICANN contractor.
Nomination Process
Community members are encouraged to submit their nominations via email to nominations [at] aso [dot] icann [dot] org by Monday, 16 December 2024 at 23:59 UTC.
Nominations must include the following information:
Full name of the nominee
Contact email address of the nominee
Contact telephone number of the nominee (if available)
Full name of the person submitting the nomination
Contact email address of the person submitting the nomination
Contact telephone number of the person submitting the nomination
Regional restrictions
The ICANN Bylaws state that no two directors selected by a Supporting Organization may reside in the same geographic region. Since the current ASO AC appointee for Seat 9, Alan Barrett, resides in the AFRINIC region, candidates from the AFRINIC region will not be eligible for nomination to Seat 10.

Nomination Phase: 16 September – 16 December 2024
Comments Phase: 30 December – 29 January 2025
Interview Phase: 29 January 2025 –29 March 2025
Selection Phase (deliberation): 30 March 2025 – 29 April 2025
Selection Phase (voting): 30 April – 7 May 2025
Announcement of selected candidate: around 14 May 2025
