[AFRINIC-Announce] Eulogising Dr Boubakar Barry

Dear colleagues,

We have learnt with profound shock and sadness about the untimely death of Dr Boubakar Barry, the Chief Executive Officer of WACREN, one of the prominent figures of the African Internet fraternity, and a strong supporter of AFRINIC across the years. 

Dr Barry’s untimely passing is a profound loss not only for his family but also for AFRINIC and the entire African Internet community. We remember Dr Barry as a friend and a brother to many. AFRINIC has lost a dear friend, a dedicated and passionate visionary leader. 

We extend our deepest condolences to Dr Barry’s family.

May his remarkable achievements forever be celebrated and serve as a reminder of the profound impact he made on the African Internet Community.

C'est avec un profond choc et une grande tristesse que nous avons appris le décès prématuré du Dr Boubakar Barry, directeur général de WACREN, figure éminente de la fraternité africaine de l'Internet et fervent partisan d'AFRINIC au fil des ans. 

Le décès du Dr Barry est une grande perte non seulement pour sa famille, mais aussi pour AFRINIC et l'ensemble de la communauté africaine de l'Internet. Le Dr Barry était pour beaucoup un ami et un frère. AFRINIC a perdu un ami cher, un leader visionnaire dévoué et passionné.

Nous présentons nos plus sincères condoléances à la famille du Dr Barry.

Que ses remarquables réalisations soient à jamais célébrées et servent à rappeler l'impact profond qu'il a eu sur la communauté africaine de l'internet.
