[AfriNIC-announce] Registration Now Open for LIR + IPv6 Training in Nigeria

AfriNIC would like to inform you that registration is now open for the
upcoming LIR + IPv6 workshop which will take place in Nigeria as follows;

Lagos: 28th - 30th September
Abuja: 4th - 6th October

This workshop is being hosted by the Nigerian Internet Exchange Point
with the collaboration of the ICT Forum. During this workshop,
organisations will get help with their IP resource application process
on site.

Course Highlights

-LIR and IP Resource Planning Scenarious
-IPv6 from an IPv4 perspective: Similarities and important differences
-IPv6 Business Readiness Planning [Open discussion]
-IPv6 Transition Techniques [Concepts and Configuration Scenarios]
-IPv6 Intra-domain routing with OSPFv3
-At least 8 hours of hands-on practical configuration scenarios.


Fees and Charges

The participation in the training is FREE of charge and open to AfriNIC
members and network operators in that priority as well as anyone
interested in understanding the management of Internet number resources
and/or the operation of IPv6 networks.

(Note that AfriNIC will not bear any transportation and/or accommodation
costs for the participants).



Target Audience & Prerequisites:
————————-----------------------

Network engineers and systems administrators who can set up and manage
an IPv4 network. Good knowledge of IPv4 networking and routing protocols
as well as ability to use the Cisco CLI are mandatory.

To start the IP Resources Request Process

1. Start the new member registration process by filling the form at
http://my.afrinic.net/registration. A PDF copy will be mailed to you
which they should get signed by the relevant authorities of your
organisation and bring to the training venue.


2. If your organisation is a university that is a member of the
Association of African Universities (AAU), you might be eligible to have
upto 100% of membership costs for the first year covered by the
AAU-AfriNIC MoU. (http://www.afrinic.net/press_release_MOU_300310.htm).
