Dear all,
This is just to remind you that we still need local hosts to partner
with in organising training in the following countries:
Swaziland
Djibouti
Eritrea
Niger
Central African Republic.
The training schedule for 2010 is available online at
http://www.afrinic.net/training/index.htm. The requirements for hosting
a workshop are as follows:
1. AfriNIC requires that at least 50% of the participants are
professionals, however, we also encourage student participation.
2. AfriNIC requires a minimum of 10 participants to organise a
training session.
3. AfriNIC will cover the cost of the venue, tea break and lunch, and
does not charge a fee to participants for the training sessions.
4. The host will secure the venue for the training.
5. The workshop must also be open to individuals outside of your
organization.
6. AfriNIC requires the Local Host to provide certain essentials for
the training session:
* Broadband Internet connectivity (the public IP addresses serving
the venue must be known by us ahead of time.)
* Network and wireless Internet access in the training room.
* Multimedia Projector, White board and markers as well as pens.
* Should participants not be bringing their own laptops, provide
computers to be used for practice.
* Publicise the event locally so that many people can be aware
of it.
The local host will also assist in facilitating visas for the trainers
as well as help them book suitable hotels.
Next Steps:
1. Send us a mail acknowledging that you meet the requirements above as
well as additional support that you are ready/willing to provide
(sponsorship of the event - feeding, hotel accommodation and local
transportation for trainers, etc.).
2. Look at the training schedule
(http://www.afrinic.net/training/index.htm) and propose a date in the
month that corresponds to your country. Also confirm what language the
training will be held in.
3. Provide two (2) different quotes for venues (noting we have a higher
preference for universities because they tend to have better facilities
and also to reduce overall costs).
4. Provide two (2) different quotes for one (1) tea break and lunch for
twenty five (25) participants.
We look forward to working with you.
Warm Regards
--
