[AfriNIC-announce] Outage of AfriNIC services on 02/12/09

Dear colleagues,

Please be informed that yesterday (02/12/09) we experienced an outage of
service at the Gallo Manor datacenter in Johannesburg from about 1345 UTC.

This was due to municipal power outage and mechanical problems with
standby generators, as reported by our hosting provider. The power
outage impacted a number of customers hosting at this datacenter
nationally and internationally.

All services were restored at approximately 1700 UTC but we are
currently monitoring for any instability and we apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused.

We are awaiting final details from our hosting provider and shall
communicate as soon as we have more information.
