[AfriNIC-announce] Internet governance afternoon at INET Abuja

Dear Colleagues
 
We are pleased to invite you to attend the joint AFNOG'2007, AfriNIC-6
and ISOC INET Africa meeting to be held in Abuja, from May 1 to 5, 2007
in Abuja, Nigeria. This four day event will provide a public forum for
the African Internet community and policy makers to discuss different
aspects of the Internet on the continent, from Network Operations to
Internet Resources Management Policies and Standards development,
including the impact of International Domain Names, unwanted traffic,
security and the governance of internet on national and regional
information societies and ICT capacity building. 
 
The AFNOG & AFRINIC Meetings would span 4 days of technical forums for
tutorials, presentations and discussions relating to internet
networking, issues on cooperation, backbone networking technologies,
operational practices and Internet number resources managment. These
meetings will be preceeded by the AFNOG-organized 5 days intensive
Training Workshop on Unix Administration, Scaleable Internet Services
and Scaleable Network Infrastructure. 

The INET meeting will comprise of a technical session on unwanted
traffic on the Internet and security challenges, in the morning. The
afternoon will be dedicated to Internet governance and will focus on the
priorities for Africa for the Internet Governance Forum that will take
place in Rio in November 2007 (see
