Congratulations Pierre , Adiel and all the Board and Staff,

This is a great chance for Afrinic to become one of the focal point for
initiatives that support Innovation .

I already see Afrinic doing a lot in the area of training LIR , that's
excellent but we can foresee to move behond that line.

The expertise driven by Afrinic need to share with Universities and research
centers in Africa with a sustainable and selective approach in the support
of the innovation in the African ICT Environment..

Regards

Mouhamet Diop

Subject: [afrinic-discuss] Afrinic at CERN

Dear all,

This to inform that upon the invitation of the Organizers (CERN, Geneva) and
with the support of ISOC, Afrinic (its Chairperson and CEO) attended the
Workshop on African Research and Education networking which took place from
25 to 27 September.

The workshop brought together a number of organisations with a strong
interest and mandate to improve Internet connectivity for tertiary education
institutions in Africa. The developments within Afrinic as well as other
sister organizations such as Afnog and Afrispa have been introduced to this
well attended meeting. The workshop was held concurrently with the Prepcom3
of the WSIS and its outcome will be promoted during the WSIS Summit in
Tunisia.

We expect Afrinic to be soon involved in a few research & networking
activities on the continent and will welcome your usual collaboration and
assistance.

Warmest regards

Pierre Dandjinou

Chaiman, Afrinic
