Hi Willy,
The cost of keeping IPv4 when you will need to buy IPv4 addresses is higher, even if you run dual-stack is also more expensive. The end-user OSs are ready. CPEs can be upgraded. Most of the core equipment has been ready for several years. So unless they have +10 years old (speaking “in general”), should not be a problem.
Specially if they try a migration, which is the wrong way (I guess in this case wrong wording). Migrate is remove IPv4 everywhere, this is not the right way. It should be done probably in the access, but not in the LANs, which is transition and coexistence, IPv6-only with IPv4-as-a-Service, or other ways to say it, but definitively not migrate!
Regards,
Jordi

Hi,
Well, because for many companies, IPv4 works well and they do not see the interest of migrating to IPv6. It should also be noted that for many other companies, migrating to IPv6 requires them to deploy new client terminals supporting this protocol. What is at the present time a burden too heavy.

I can see that IPv6 is 24ms faster than IPv4 but why most of African companies or companies based in Africa still use IPv4?

I recently listed all of the measurements I could find.
https://www.retevia.net/fast/
In Africa on average, IPv6 is 24ms faster than IPv4. That can mean a
significant difference in how long a web page takes to load. The APNIC
data set is pretty small, though, and the performance improvement might
just mean that the "Happy Eyeballs" algorithm only lets IPv6 work when
it's faster: https://stats.labs.apnic.net/v6perf/XB
I don't know how African mobile providers have deployed IPv6, but I
compared some American and European mobile providers, and there's a
correlation between 464xlat and slower IPv4. My guess is that Android
handsets are a little slow when doing CLAT.
