An interim solution could be to keep the DNS in a MySQL Database and
whenever you make a change (via a web portal??) also set a "I've
Changed" flag.
Have a script run from cron, (once every five minutes?) and if it sees a
"I've Changed" flag - write out the zone file to a flat config file.
This allows you to also later sign the zone (DNSSEC).
This is what I do.
Works just fine.
