IF they do go ahead with the idea of setting up a survey (which I'm sure many on this and other list will be happy to assist in designing), one very effective way of getting broad-based input from the African tech community will be as follows.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">Get an AU person to book a 15 minute session at each of the major IT events taking place on the continent (AFRINIC meetings, African Internet Summit, ICANN <span>etc</span>). During that session, the person presents the goals and then asks people to fill in the survey.
