<p><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">On 15 April 2010, the
nomination period closed for the seven ICANN leadership positions to be filled
this year. The 2010 Nominating Committee (NomCom) received 82 Statements of
Interest from candidates worldwide during the nomination period from 13
November 2009 to 15 April 2010. (The 2009 Nominating Committee received a
comparable number: 86). 78 of this year's candidates are men and 4 are women. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The 2010 NomCom first
convened following ICANN's Annual Meeting in Seoul in October 2009, and has the
task to select candidates for the following positions: </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The 2010 NomCom will collect
information and evaluate the candidates through June 2010, when it will hold a
face-to-face selection meeting immediately after the ICANN meeting in Brussels,
Belgium. Due diligence checks of the selected candidates will follow and the
final selections will be announced in early September 2010. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Successful candidates will
take up their positions following ICANN's Annual General Meeting in Latin
America in December 2010. </span></p>
