<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align:justify"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 16px; ">It
is with great shock and pain but with total submission to the will of Almighty
God, that we formally announce the sudden passing away of Engr. Ndukwe Kalu,
pioneer President of Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align:justify"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 16px; ">Engr.
Kalu Ndukwe was an embodiment of intellect, diligent, hardwork and a great
patriot, who deployed so much time and energy to the formation and growth of
NiRA.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The internet community in Nigeria
has indeed lost a gem and a pillar.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align:justify"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 16px; ">The
Association has decided to contribute its quota to ensuring a befitting burial
and establish an Endowment Fund in honour of the late President.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The Endowment Fund would be used for the
training, research and development of deserving ICT students and professionals
– a cause that was very dear to late Engr. Kalu.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> The
family has fixed October 31, 2009 as the date of burial and this would be
preceded by the following activities in his honour by the ICT Industry and
Internet Community.</span></p>
