<div>Dear All,</div>
<div> <br>(sorry for dupes for those who are on other lists).<br><br></div>
<div>As you may all know, NTIA is conducting a review of the JPA(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/frnotices/2007/ICANN_JPA_110207.html"><font color="#0000ff">http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/frnotices/2007/ICANN_JPA_110207.html
</font></a>),
with deadline for comments by 15 February. ICANN has prepared its own submission,
which was posted yesterday on the website. I believe it will be good that as
many people, organisations, ccTLDs, Ministries, Regulatory Agencies, Industry people, submit a
letter also supporting the end of the JPA. <br><br>With the attached letter of
submission, there is also a table of achievements measuring ICANN's performance
toward its responsibilities in the JPA. It is similar to the one found in our
Annual Report (on ICANN's website) but this one has urls that link to the actual
document and/or announcement that supports the achievement.  It's also a useful
tool, compiling all materials in one place for general use. <br><br>The ICANN
letter is forthright in that it says the JPA should be concluded. The Board
thinks that concluding the JPA is the next logical step in transition, as you'll
also see reflected in the letter. We hope that the community finds the
submission a useful base/reference from which to provide support and own
comments. <br><br>I am available if anybody wants to discuss this and they can
send me emails or I can call them next week as well if they wish.
Internationally we are keen to ensure that those who've raised ICANN's JPA,
find the document useful for their comments.<br><br>Cheers,<br></div>-- <br>Anne-Rachel Inne
