1st August 2007<br><br><div style="text-align: center;">Invitation to the AfriNIC-7 Public Policy Meeting<br>(Durban, South Africa: 23rd to 28th September 2007)<br><br></div>AfriNIC is pleased to invite you to attend the AfriNIC-7 public policy meeting that will be held in Durban, South Africa from 23rd to 28th September 2007 with a focus on IPv6 and Internet Governance & Policy Makers.
<br>This 6-day event will provide a public forum for the African Internet community and policy makers to discuss different aspects of the Internet on the continent, from network operations to internet resource management, policies and standards development, including an update on the deployment of IPv6. AfriNIC will also be presenting an update of its activities and its plans for the future. We are enclosing the agenda of the meeting for your perusal.
<br>As mentioned above, we are having a one-day special session 'Internet Governance in Africa and Policy Makers' for policy makers and regulators on 25th September 2007. We are enclosing the draft agenda for your perusal. On 26th September we will be having an IPv6 conference where we will share and learn about IPv6 deployment, applications and equipment.
<br>Participation to the meeting is open to network specialists, policy makers and the community at large. We suggest you register online for the meeting and book your hotel room at the earliest to avoid last minute surprises and to benefit from the special rate for the meeting.
<br>In order to encourage participation, 2 people per member will be entitled to attend the meeting from 25th to 28th September 2007 free of charge. This includes free registration of the meetings as well as lunch for those days.
