Dear Colleagues,

Registration is still open for our maiden webinar titled, "The African Internet Exchange Point (IXP) Story” which will take place on 11th May 2023 and will start at 09:00 UTC on the Zoom Platform. The webinar will feature representatives from some African IXPs in a panel discussion. The Panelists will offer distinctive perspectives on their individual IXP journey, including the implications on local content creation, the difficulties of constructing infrastructure and attracting network operators to connect to the IXP facility.

The session will be moderated by Mr. Musa Stephen Honlue, the Project Manager and Transformation Lead, at AFRINIC. With him on the panel will be;

  1.  Mrs. Fiona Asonga - Chief Executive Officer, Technology Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK).
  2.  Mr. Kyle Spencer – Executive Director, Uganda Internet Exchange Point (UIXP).
  3.  Mr. Nishal Goburdhan - Senior Internet Infrastructure Analyst, Packet Clearing House (PCH).
  4.  Mr. Donald Jolley - Operations Support, Durban Internet Exchange (DINX).
  5.  Mr. Jean Baptiste Milligo - Director, Internet Technology and Development, Internet Society(ISOC).T

Participants will learn firsthand about IXPs in Africa, with a focus on how these institutions are influencing the direction of the continent's digital landscape. During the webinar, participants will have the chance to engage with the panelist during the Q & A session. The language of instruction in the webinar will be English.

This Webinar Series is a platform designed to provide members of the Internet Community with an opportunity to learn and engage on various topics related to the AFRINIC ecosystem.
