SUMMARY


This week, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday condemned the recent white supremacist rally in the United States. By the way, he  stated : “The internet and social media are filled with hate speech and anti-Semitic imagery. And we hear on the streets of democratic societies the repeat of some of the most vile Nazi chants and charges..." In addition; Stormfront, the oldest neo-Nazi and white nationalist website on the English-speaking internet has been blocked.

On cyber geopolititics, India and the European Union<http://gadgets.ndtv.com/tags/eu> stressed on the need to deepen deliberations on the applicability of international law to cyberspace and set norms of responsible behaviour of states during the fourth India-EU cyber dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday. Furthermore; India and Japan have resolved to strengthen their collaboration in the field of cyberspace, and confirmed their commitment to an open, secure and accessible cyberspace, enabling economic growth and innovation,
On freedom of expression, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China<http://www.cac.gov.cn/2017-08/25/c_1121541481.htm>, sites like social networks and discussion forums will have to verify the real identities of registered users before they can be allowed to post anything on their platforms. Furthemore, thousands of russians protested restrictions on the use of the Internet, news agencies reported. In India, after Internet and mobile services were shut down for several days in the northern Indian states of Haryana and Punjab, Ministry of Communications has issued directives and instructions pertaining to Internet shutdowns.
On security, Symantec has revealed that they have identified cyber spying campaign over Pakistan and India which is likely to be a state-sponsored campaign against both nations following regional security issues.
On Net neutrality,, Apple has released a powerful statement on net neutrality that says 'the internet is so important to be left unprotected'
