You’re making it sound like the malware was targeting countries etc., specifically.
There isn’t any evidence that it is.
It was and is a global issue.

And tbh most of the issues could be mitigated if people kept their servers and desktops up to date.

Hello everyone!

As you well know a number of African countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, Egypt, Mozambique, Tanzania, Niger, Morocco and Tunisia have reportedly been attacked by the recent "WannaCry" ransomware malware that hit institutions around the world.

Should Africa be alarmed by cyber threats, such as this recent attack?

Does Africa have the cybersecurity preparedness and capacity to deal with these types of threats?
