Thank you Pierre for this update - which is obviously showing that:  Either 'how little the community was made to knows" OR 'how the ICANN Board assumed Abdolute Power over everything to do with ICANN business''

The 5 Fear Points presented by Chehadé are what any corporation should worry about.  By the way the longevity of any business entity is affected by such factors and above all, no corporation is eternal. Some changes have to be effected to ensure its survival in this 'everchanging world'.

It seems that this IANA transition issue is just the tip of the iceberg ....there might be more fundamental issues which called for that. Above all, the deadline might to be there. .

Otherwise, the communities are doing what they know and push for what they expect since they are the major stakeholders. The possibility of shifting is strongly there if ICANN Board sees that to do business-as-usual is the best way forward.
