That's great to hear. IF they do go ahead with the idea of setting up a
survey (which I'm sure many on this and other list will be happy to assist
in designing), one very effective way of getting broad-based input from the
African tech community will be as follows.

Get an AU person to book a 15 minute session at each of the major IT events
taking place on the continent (AFRINIC meetings, African Internet Summit,
ICANN etc). During that session, the person presents the goals and then
asks people to fill in the survey. From experience, they'd need both online
and paper survey.
