The problem isn't the free domains per se - domains can be given away in 
a responsible manner...

The problem is that .ng has been chopping and changing policies on 
whims, thereby creating
a climate of instability. If there's one thing domain registrants do not 
like, it's shifting
sands.

And of course the obvious: the last thing you need to set up an internet 
presence, is a domain name.....
